Purpose of My Experiment:
To prove that even a dumb ass donkey boy like myself, can set-up, configure, and operate the Linux Operating System & utilize Open Source software.
Prime Objective of this experiment is to set-up a firewalled home network, while still safely operating Public & Private services on the Internet using nothing but Linux & Open Source software (and not spending a singal cent either).
Hypothesis:
I believe any dumb ass donkey boy or girl can run Linux & make it do cool & crazy things if the documentation is studied.

Cable Modem Connection
Experiment:
This website is the experiment. Not only is it a website, but the server itself is the experiment. I registered with www.dyndns.org. They provided the free name record on their domain & maintain a record of my current IP address of the cable modem. I am using Smoothwall Linux as my firewall / router. The Smoothwall box has 3 nics. It is setup to operate my cable modem connection, local area network, and a DMZ (that is where this server resides). This website resides on a box running Slackware Linux.
Conclusion:
If you are reading this, then I conclude that a dumb ass donkey boy or girl can set-up, configure, and operate the Linux Operating System & utilize Open Source software.
